Mikica Maštrović

Andrija Maurović in the NUL Print Collection


Andrija Maurović (Muo, Boka Kotorska, 29 March 1901 – Zagreb, 2 September 1981), a painter and comics artist, abandoned his education at the Zagreb Academy of Fine Arts only after one year of study (1923-1924) and started working for various customers and publishers. In 1925 he started doing illustrations and cartoons (Koprive, Kulise), and in 1935 he began producing comic strips.
