Scientific symposium marking the 10th anniversary of the Croatian Web Archive
The National and University Library in Zagreb announced a final version of the programme of the scientific symposium that will take place on 26 September 2014 and be dedicated to the marking of the tenth anniversary of web archiving in Croatia. Registration deadline expires on 23 September 2014 and all who are interested in attending this programme may register online.
Through a number of invited and poster presentations the programme of the symposium will present various web archiving practices, as well as methods in which web content is collected, processed and preserved. The objective of this symposium is to increase the use of archived web content and knowledge related to web archiving practice and issues, as well as to raise public awareness of the importance of a permanent preservation of this new type of heritage. Its programme will include lectures and presentations of prominent experts specialising in different aspects of the field of digital resources.
The Croatian Web Archive (CWA), Croatia’s web archiving system, began operating in 2004 in cooperation with the Croatian University Computing Centre (Srce) and makes its constantly growing collection of archived web content freely accessible on its web pages.
