NUL presenting the Croatian edition of International Standard Book Description (ISBD)
The latest publication of the Croatian Library Association, the Croatian edition of the International Standard Book Description (ISBD), will be presented at the National and University Library in Zagreb on Monday, 9 February 2015, starting at 13.00. The publication will be presented by the Croatian edition’s editor in chief, Dina Mašina, translator Ana Barbarić, and copyeditors Tanja Buzina and Elia Ekinović-Micak.
The new edition of the basic bibliographic standard has been published as part of the Croatian Library Association’s occasional publications series. This integrated ISBD edition replaces all prior specialised ISBDs developed for specific types of library resources and is the current up-to-date IFLA standard for the bibliographic and catalogue description of all types of resources. This Croatian ISBD edition was translated by Ana Barbarić from the University of Zagreb, and Mirna Willer from the University of Zadar acted as the edition’s scientific editor.
It is the Croatian translation of the 2011 consolidated ISBD edition published by the International Federation of Library Associations and Institutions (IFLA), which the Croatian Library Association now makes available to Croatian cataloguing specialists. It should be emphasized that owing to the efforts and publishing activities of the Croatian Library Association Croatian cataloguing specialists may now use IFLA’s current standard for the description of all types of library resources and should start implementing it in 2015.
The tables of contents and forewords of this edition may be accessed on the website of the Croatian Library Association and the complete Croatian ISBD edition may be ordered online.
