NSK hosts launch of Croatian edition of Shimon Peres’ “No Room for Small Dreams: Courage, Imagination, and the Making of Modern Israel”
On 2 September 2021, the National and University Library in Zagreb hosted the launch of the Croatian edition of No Room for Small Dreams: Courage, Imagination, and the Making of Modern Israel, authored by a Nobel peace prize laureate and the ninth Israeli president Shimon Peres (1923-2016). The book launch was organised by the Embassy of the State of Israel to the Republic of Croatia, Croatian-Israeli Business Club and the Školska knjiga Croatian publishing company.
The book was presented by the President of the Školska knjiga Management Committee Dr Ante Žužul, Honorary President of the Croatian-Israeli Business Club Professor Dragan Primorac, Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of the State of Israel to the Republic of Croatia His Excellency Mr. Ilan Mor and Chairman of The Peres Center for Peace and Innovation Nechemia Peres, Shimon Peres’ son. The presentation programme was moderated by the book’s editor Miroslava Vučić and Croatian stage and screen actor Vedran Mlikota gave a reading of the book’s selected passages.
The programme closed with a debate on the Croatian-Israeli relations, the achievements of the State of Israel in the field of innovation, science and economy and cooperation between Croatia and Israel, moderated by the Croatian television host Frano Ridjan.
