NSK Director General Dr Stričević attends 35th CENL Annual General Meeting
On 29 and 30 November 2021, the Director General of the National and University Library in Zagreb Dr Ivanka Stričević, who is also a member of the Executive Committee of the Conference of European National Librarians (CENL), attended the 35th CENL Annual General Meeting, organised by The Royal Library of Belgium.
On the meeting’s first day, NSK Director General Dr Stričević participated in a panel discussion on national libraries and sustainability (Nacionalne knjižnice i održivost) as one of three invited panellists, while on the meeting’s second day Dr Stričević led one of the workshops held as part of an interactive session focusing on the strategic priorities of national libraries and CENL for the ensuing four-year period (Strateški prioriteti nacionalnih knjižnica i CENL-a za sljedeće četiri godine). The meeting’s joint conclusions will serve as the basis for the preparation of the new CENL Strategic Plan, whose development next year, in 2022, is one of the principal tasks of the newly elected CENL Executive Committee.
CENL brings together 49 national libraries in 46 European countries for the purpose of strengthening the cooperation between European national libraries and promoting their activities and valuable cultural heritage preserved in their collections. Dr Stričević’s participation in this year’s CENL Annual General Meeting represents a successful and productive continuation of the active longstanding participation of the National and University Library in Zagreb in the work of CENL.
