NSK Acting Director General at 8th South East Europe National Librarians (SEENL) Conference in Sofia

The Acting Director General of the National and University Library in Zagreb Tatijana Petrić took part in the 8th South East Europe National Librarians (SEENL) Conference, which took place from 21 to 23 October 2019 at the “St. Cyril and Methodius” National Library of Bulgaria.

The conference programme highlighted issues related to manuscript material and documentary heritage preserved at national libraries in South East Europe, placing special emphasis on the adequate storing, archiving and protection of resources in these special library collections.

The conference brought together the directors of national libraries in Albania, Bosnia and Herzegovina, Greece, Macedonia, Montenegro, Serbia, Slovenia and Turkey who exchanged experiences and made presentations thematising the accessibility of resources preserved as part of their libraries’ special collections. In her presentation, NSK Acting Director General Petrić spoke about the importance of the preservation and accessibility of resources held in four special collections of the National and University Library in Zagreb – Manuscripts and Old Books, Print, Map, and Music collections. She presented the Library’s ongoing projects in this context, emphasising the significance of institutional networking, resource sharing, as well as of adopting a strategic approach towards the development of processes aimed at the preservation of special library resources.
