Lecture by Ph.D. Professor Toni Samek: Problematizing Information Ethics and Social Responsibility in LIS Education in Context of the Greater Academy
On 20 April at 13.00 at the National and University Library in Zagreb Ph.D. Professor Toni Samek will present a lecture on information ethics and social responsibility in the education of librarians and information specialists, organized by the NUL’s Training Centre of Continuing Education for Librarians.
The lecture will be held at the conference room on the Mezzanine Floor of National and University Library in Zagreb, 4 Hrvatske bratske zajednice Street, Zagreb. No participation fee is charged and all who wish to attend must register at: cssu@nsk.hr.
Dr. Toni Samek is Professor at the School of Library and Information Studies, University of Alberta and Fellow at the Centre for Global Citizenship Education and Research, Faculty of Education at the same university. She is the author of Intellectual freedom and social responsibility in American librarianship: 1967-1974 (2001) and Librarianship and human rights: a twenty-first century guide (2007). She is also one of the editors of She was a booklegger: remembering Celeste West (2010).
