Latvia’s ambassador to Croatia Her Excellency Mrs Agnese Kalniņa visits NSK
On 26 April 2023, the Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of the Republic of Latvia to the Republic of Croatia Her Excellency Mrs Agnese Kalniņa visited the National and University Library in Zagreb (NSK).
During the visit, Ambassador Kalniņa met with the Library’s Director General Dr Ivanka Stričević, the NSK International Library Cooperation Adviser Jagoda Ille, Head of the NSK Acquisition and Collection Development Department Dr Vesna Golubović and Senior Public Relations Adviser at the NSK Marketing and Communications Section Nela Marasović.
The meeting participants discussed the continuation of cooperation and cultural exchange between NSK and the National Library of Latvia through an exhibition exchange programme which started in 2007, when the National Library of Latvia hosted Book Art in Croatia, an exhibition of the National and University Library in Zagreb.
As part of the visit, Ambassador Kalniņa donated to the Library some twenty book titles promoting the customs, language, history and culture of Latvia which the National and University Library in Zagreb will include in its collections and a special book collection featuring the titles donated to the Library by the delegations and representatives of various countries.
