“Human rights”: New thematic collection available on Croatian Web Archive website
Marking 2022 Human Rights Day, the National and University Library in Zagreb (NSK) launched Human rights, a new thematic collection on the website of the Croatian Web Archive (Hrvatski arhiv weba, HAW) jointly created through the Archive’s cooperation with the NSK Official Publications Collection and the Croatian Library Association’s Committee on Government Information and Official Publications.
Human rights, the inalienable rights of all members of the human family, i.e. the economic, social, cultural and all other specific rights indispensable for human dignity and free personal development, are frequently the subject of online content and the collection offers a wide array of diverse and relevant resources on this topic provided by government authorities, bodies of local government, non-governmental organisations (NGOs) and various human rights organisations.
Bringing together in one place varied online content on human rights and enabling its long-term preservation, this latest HAW’s collection – as well as all other content on the Archive’s website – offers unlimited access to its resources to everyone, thus promoting open access principles and being equally available to civil rights associations, lawyers and researchers as well to activists, students and the wider public.
The resources – 135 URLs totalling 253 GB of data – collected during a one-month period by the members of the NSK Official Publications Collection and the Croatian Library Association’s Committee on Government Information and Official Publications range from websites and parts of websites, through government and international publications on legal regulations in this context and human rights-oriented e-books published by government and non-governmental organisations, to news sites.
