Croatian Library Day 2022
Croatian Library Day is marked on 11 November, on the anniversary of the passing of the first, 1960 Croatian library act, with the aim of increasing the visibility of libraries and their activities and raising public awareness of the important social role and mission of all types of libraries – school, public, university and special.
Each year the celebration, which traditionally takes place as part of the Croatian Book Month programme, includes the Library of the Year Award ceremony, which will this year be held in Split, the city of the 2022 Award winner, Marko Marulić City Library.
Presented last year to Požega City Library, the prestigious accolade is awarded by the Croatian Library Association.
