Croatian Library Association moves into new offices
On 26 September 2022, the Croatian Library Association (Hrvatsko knjižničarsko društvo, HKD) opened its new offices at the National and University Library in Zagreb (NSK).
The programme of the opening included addresses by the University Library Affairs Assistant to the Director General of the National and University Library in Zagreb and the Association’s President Dr Dijana Machala, Director General of the National and University Library in Zagreb Dr Ivanka Stričević and State Secretary at the Croatian Ministry of Culture and Media Dr Ivica Poljičak.
Attending the opening were also the Director of the Ministry’s Directorate for Archives, Libraries and Museums Anuška Deranja Crnokić, Head of the Ministry’s Archive, Library and Museum Activity Sector Jelena Glavić-Perčin, members of the Association’s several boards and directors of libraries from the Zagreb City Libraries public library network.
The Association’s moving into new and more spacious offices, which are now located in the east-facing part of the Library’s building, will certainly have a positive impact on the Association’s activities, enabling improvements in all aspects of its work, especially those related to the work of its governing and professional bodies, the advancement of professional library standards in Croatia and their alignment with international library standards.
