Objavljeno 23.3.2022.

On 23 March 2022, marking World Meteorological Day, the National and University Library in Zagreb (NSK) launched Climate change, a new thematic collection on the portal of the Croatian Web Archive (Hrvatski arhiv weba, HAW). Responding to the recent raising of public awareness of climate change and of the need to urgently act in order to alleviate its impact, in which context libraries should take active part in promoting resources such as UN Agenda 2030 and its 17 sustainable development goals, especially Goal 13, the Archive and the Library’s User Services Department, Official Publications Collection and the NSK European Documentation Centre jointly prepared the collection, taking great care to include in it all relevant content.

The collection thus includes carefully selected varied online content, ranging from websites, through weather portals and resources related to ongoing climate change-related projects and programmes, to publications issued by bodies of central and local government, such as proposals, drafts and programmes focusing on environmental protection in relation to climate change. Being an important source of information about climate change-related developments and events on the national and global level, news sites content thematising global warming, fossil fuels, greenhouse gasses and other climate-change related concepts and issues are also included.

Resources in the collection include 133 URLs, totalling 99 GB of data.
