Chile’s ambassador to Croatia His Excellency Mr Cristián Edgardo Streeter Nebel visits NSK
On 10 January 2023, the Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of the Republic of Chile to the Republic of Croatia His Excellency Cristián Edgardo Streeter Nebel visited the National and University Library in Zagreb (NSK), on which occasion he met with the Library’s Director General Dr Ivanka Stričević.
NSK Director General Dr Stričević and Ambassador Streeter Nebel discussed the arrangements for the organisation of an exhibition dedicated to the historic voyage around the world of Ferdinand Magellan. The exhibition’s opening is scheduled for September, commemorating the setting out of the famous Portuguese under the flag of Spain on a journey to circumnavigate the earth. The exhibition plans also include its display at CroAtrium, the Library’s multimedia lab and centre for the research, development and promotion of Croatia’s national collection.
After donating on his visit to the Library in May 2022 20 copies of Encounter Between Three Worlds, 500 Years After the First Circumnavigation of the Earth, published to mark the 500th anniversary of Magellan’s voyage, Ambassador Streeter Nebel donated to the Library another 25 copies of this valuable title on this occasion as well.
