Call for submissions for Croatian Book Night 2020

Objavljeno 6.3.2020.

Croatian Book Night 2020 will be held on 23 April 2020, which is internationally marked as the World Book and Copyright Day. The ninth edition of this annual national programme will again try to prompt a wider public debate on the social status of the book and the importance of values associated with it in the contemporary society.

Everyone interested in taking part in the 2020 Croatian Book Night may submit their programme of events online until 27 March 2020. It will be possible to submit programmes even after this deadline, however the organisers will not be able to guarantee to deliver the promotional material on time or to include the subsequently submitted programmes in the official 2020 Croatian Book Night programme.

Prompted by the alarming developments related to climate change and its disastrous impact on humankind and all other species on the planet, the organisers of this year’s Croatian Book Night themed it Books That Changed the World, wishing us all to explore the power and influence of books as the drivers of change throughout human history.

We say – Books change our world. Everyone who reads, knows this. What do you say?

Croatian Book Night programme is organised by the Publishers and Booksellers Association of the Croatian Chamber of Economy, National and University Library in Zagreb, Zagreb City Libraries, Publishers’ Reprographic Rights Association – ZANA (Udruga za zaštitu prava nakladnika), Knjižni blok – Inicijativa za knjigu pro-book association, books-and-culture-oriented web portal Moderna vremena and the Croatian Association of School Librarians.
