2021 Croatian library statistics available on IFLA Library Map of the World
In 2017, the International Federation of Library Associations and Institutions (IFLA) set up its Library Map of the World website with the aim of presenting the activities of libraries on the global level and advocating libraries in the context of achieving the outcomes of the United Nations 2030 Agenda for Sustainable Development. In August that year, the website made available the first data on libraries from 75 countries along with several stories illustrating how libraries contribute to a successful implementation of the 2030 Agenda Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs).
Currently, the Map provides selected data for 138 countries, full profiles for 28 countries and 56 SDGs-related stories. The National and University Library in Zagreb (NSK) is one of the contributors to the Map and has recently made available the 2021 statistics on the activities of currently 1,920 Croatian libraries based on the data annually collected and published on the Croatian Libraries Statistics website.
