Exhibition on the Croatian Glagolitic script opened at the French Palais du Tau
The exhibition dedicated to the Croatian Glagolitic Script entitled Hrvatska glagoljica – prisjećanje na jedno europsko srednjovjekovno pismo: od Srednjeg vijeka do danas opened on Wednesday 12 December 2012 at the French Palais du Tau (Centre des Monuments Nationaux) in Reims as part of the Croatian Cultural Festival.
The exhibition gives a historical overview of the Glagolitic script from the Middle Ages to the present day highlighting its significance as one of the most prominent elements making up Croatian cultural identity. It includes manuscripts, incunabula, missals and the original Glagolitic books of gospels from the Manuscripts and Old Books Collections at the National and University Library in Zagreb and the Old Church Slavic Institute in Zagreb. The Director General of the National and University Library in Zagreb Dunja Seiter-Šverko and the NUL International Cooperation Adviser Jasenka Zajec participated in the opening of the exhibition, which has been put on by Anica Nazor and produced by the Zagreb based publishing house Erasmus naklada d.o.o.
